My cousin came from South Carolina for a visit this past weekend. She is the first person to visit us other than my mother, brother, and sister. How exciting! We had a lot of fun while she was here. We celebrated Ralph's 30th birthday (which was March 9th) on Saturday the 14th. It was a good time. We had about 25 people over and had a big dinner at his parents' house. Then the "young" people went to do karaoke. It was a blast!
Then on Monday we made the trip down to Disneyland. I had been begging Ralph to bring me there ever since we moved here to no avail. But he couldn't say no to Jenn since she came all the way out here. Hah! It was a lot of fun but I swear to God they should give a "mommy discount". We didn't really get to do a whole lot since she had to be fed, changed, played with so often. Ralph and I took turns riding rides with Jenn. The lines weren't too bad. The longest line we waited in was for Space Mountain and it was about 35 minutes or so. April absolutely adored It's a Small World. She just sat there on my lap staring at all the pretty colors and listening to the (somewhat creepy) music. It was sooooo freakin' cute. By the end, she nodded off and we made our way to the exit as we had to drop Jenn off at LAX. Somewhere in the park, we lost one of April's Vans shoes. So sad. Especially since those shoes were originally bought for Julian. At least we still have one and now I will put the lone survivor up on Julian's shelf. Those shoes were the first thing someone bought for him when I was pregnant. Ralph's sister bought them for him.
And THEN, yesterday, we went for April's 4-month checkup, which was actually a week shy of 5 months old. She got some shots, fussed a bit, but was over it pretty quickly. She weighed in at 15 lb 13 oz, wow! She is 26.25" long. Looks like she is slowing down a bit, which is to be expected from a breastfed baby.
Here are some pictures!
